Foaling season was successful this year. We were blessed with 3 healthy foals, 2 fillies and 1 colt. We have Arcola's Amaretti (colt; No contest x Arcola's Cyd Charisse); Arcola's Pizzelle (filly; Futurity French Command x Indian Creek Belle Haven); Arcola's Cardamom Girl (filly; Ingate's Eye of the Tiger x Arcola's Ambrosia). Next year we are expecting 5 new foals coming in the Spring. Cannot wait!
There were many highlights to 2019. We attended 5 horse shows, earned some nice ribbons, faced some real competition, and enjoyed watching all four of the Johnson young adults show some of our favorite horses (as you can see from the pictures). Our Grand Nationals finished off the show season with all of us improving as the week went on, and ending with many stellar moments. We were thrilled to see Lars Johnson win the UPHA Sportsmanship award in his last Saddleseat Equitation class of this, his last year as a Jr. Exhibitor. What a proud moment it was for all of us! Our futurity yearling filly, Arcola's Madeliene also made us proud with a Reserve World championship win with Hanna Johnson and Laura Kurtz doing the lead. What a busy, yet fun time was had by all in OKC, with all the wonderful Morgan friends, and fabulous restaurants to investigate. We are so thankful for our Trainer Tom Bombolis, Assistant Trainer Hanna Johnson, Coach Nancy Becker, and our Arcola team members Rachel Rogers, Laura Kurtz and Grace Stanislaw for all their hard work at the show and all year long. A special thank you to Erin Davidson for taking care of our farm, horses and pup while we were away!
We are proud to share the following new owners of some of our special horses this year:
-We would love to congratulate Ella Herschak and the Ericksson family on their purchase of By the Bay! We will be your biggest fans and wish you the best of luck with “Beatty”. Heather Luedtke and Tom Bombolis agents for buyer and seller (picture of Heather picking up By the Bay in the early morning, by the door, in collage).
-We would like to congratulate Chloe' Cox, and parents John and Rachel Cox on the purchase of Arcola's Cyd Charisse, soon to be seen in the Jr. Ex. Hunter division. Many thanks to receiving trainer Mallory Magnot at Hallmark Farm, Dustin Freiheit from Freiheit Performance Horses, the Anderson Family and Tom Bombolis from Arcola Farm for their assistance with this sale.
Now it's off season and that means that it is time to bring in the young stock and teach them to wear some leather. To tell you the truth, this is a wonderful time for us, we get to watch these energetic young colts and fillies show us what they want to be when they grow up. What a privilege!
